Individual Worth is magnified in family units
Each person is so precious that Jesus gave his life to save every soul.
Doctrine teaches
D&C 18:10 “Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God”
D&C 18:10 “Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God”
The world puts great emphasis on individualism when the truth is if you follow this value assumption you will lose your worth. In families you will actually be able to be more of an individual while sharing your worth.
“We focus not just on individuals but on individuals in family relationships.” 1
“We understand that our heavenly parents created spiritual bodies for each of us as their own sons and daughters and placed in these spirit bodies spirits-immortal beings made from existing, eternal intelligence. In Abraham 3:22, we learn that the intelligences ‘were organized before the world was.”1
“Each individual has a divine origin and destiny. We are literally children of heavenly parents, and we are imbued with characteristics of these divine parents. Indeed, the divine inheritance of each individual makes us all sacred beings.”1
How can we be in a family unit and still be one?
Just as Jesus in on with His Father, He would have us be one with Him. Jesus and the Father are two unique individuals; however, they are one in purpose (D&C 38:27). Our oneness with Christ is being one in purpose, not losing our individual reality or self.”1 As a family we apply this same method of reasoning: A family with unique individuals but with one purpose.
“The worth of each and every soul is absolute.”1
